Maintaining Your Momentum by Loving Each Moment

When you’re trying to reach a new point in your life, keeping your momentum going is one of the most helpful things you can do for yourself.

This new point in your life can look like a promotion, a new job, a new home, a new love, a new city or anything you’re aiming for that will shift you out of your current state of being in a big way. There are many ways you can build momentum but the very first step towards maintaining a high vibration is recognizing when it’s being affected by outside influences such as people, places or things.

In past articles, we’ve discussed creating sacred space, aligning with goddess energy, actioning our soul’s desire and doing energetic inventory. After we do these things we experience a new space of being, a sense of peace and positivity. These are the feelings we want to hold onto as we co-create our new reality using the energy that is available around us. There are many ways to stay in this energetic alignment, it’s just a matter of choosing the one that feels right for you! If you come out of alignment you can use these same resources to get you back on track. It’s just a matter of being aware enough to know when you’re in alignment and when you’ve wandered from it.

Meditation

In the past I went through various formats of meditation, trying to find what felt right for me. Sometimes styles change over time, depending on your mood or time of day. Here are some variations that helped me on my way in the beginning:

Channeled guided meditation: I’ve used channeled guided meditations by Sanaya Roman from www.orindaben.com (Orin is the being that she channels). However, over time I found the talking to be too distracting so I moved on to chakra seed mantras.

Chakra seed mantras: These can be found on YouTube and are great for basic energy tune-ups in the morning or the evening.

Meditation apps: The Calm app is great and I know many people who use it with a lot of success. This is a great option for those that find it helpful to have guidance through talking as a focusing point when meditating.

Pandora: When I’m not doing a silent meditation occasionally I’ll use the Pandora music player to switch it up a bit. Creating a ‘Global Chill’ station and letting that play softly in the background allows some really beautiful tracks to flow through, putting you in the mood to center yourself.

Nature

Getting out for a walk or a hike is another way to shift the dynamic of your vibration. If you’re a city person, this can be as simple as walking to a new neighborhood or taking the train to your favorite park to chill for an hour or two. If you’re lucky enough to live in an area with hiking trails, pack a bag with what you’ll need and head out! Seeing and being around plants in any form of abundance is immediately calming and connects us to something much deeper and bigger than ourselves as humans.

Books

Books are the perfect excuse to take a break from social media and allow your higher self to use your imagination more. Libraries are an amazing resource, especially if you’re trying to save some money! Look up books that focus on what you’re trying to accomplish in your life; you’ll feel calmer, clearer and motivated. You’ll also avoid the general overstimulation that the internet can sometimes provide as a distraction from your goals.

Journaling

Writing down a gratitude list, a to-do list, an “I wonder” list or anything else that comes to mind can help to record it and also prevent the ‘hamster wheel’ effect which causes many of us to become anxious or overwhelmed when trying to make a decision or setting out to do something new. Visioning is another important piece; try writing out what you want and what it will look like in full description…and adding “or better!” to allow the Universe to do it’s thing!

September is really wonderful for getting your affairs in order and seeing where you are in terms of meeting your goals for the year. Using any of the techniques above will help you in staying the course, feeling good and maybe even inspire an idea or two!
