SG ASKS – I’m looking for some good visualization exercises. I’m realizing that I’m stuck. I’m not good at it and I don’t know where to start to practice. Any advice is welcome.

Reply – Some people have what is known as Aphantasia. About 3% of the population have this condition It is the inability to have mental images occur. As for what to do. Relax. If you explore your other senses, taste, sight, sound, touch, and feel as, in vibration and energy, they may tell you what it is that you are sensing or experiencing. In that way, you might be able to tell what is a tree a spirit, or whatever. I recommend journaling about all your sensory experiences and meditating on them to help figure it out. In the end, one of those senses will be your superpower. Actual visualization may come as you relax about it, or not but that is ok

DC ASKS – I am very new to all of this. What herbs or plants are very handy to keep at all times? And I would also love to understand elementals and how to communicate with them in their way.

Reply – My handy herbs are, whatever happens, to be willing to grow in my yard and I use them. They happen to be plantain, heal all, St. John’s wort, shepherds purse, purslane, nightshade, red clover, and yellow dock. What I have planted, is rosemary, lavender, sage, thyme, oregano, lemon balm, yarrow, calendula, cornflower, basil, parsley, chives, and willow. As for the elementals, that is a big question. Do you mean working with the elements, or creating an elemental being and working with it?

DC – Thank you. That’s very helpful to know. Yea def how to incorporate elements into your daily life. I would love to hear how to work with the elements and how others tune their energy to create a flow-through nature.

Reply – Okay, here are some basics. Air is our breath, our thinking, our dreams, our intellect, and more…so we can begin a relationship with the element of air by being grateful for how it helps us function. We expand in that by noticing what air does for us in the atmosphere and with the trees and plants. Water, the same thing, we are 3/4 water, and we can be grateful for it quenching our thirst and keeping our systems functioning. Once we connect on that level, then we begin to look at more of the personality in us that relates to each element. For example, is someone too emotional right now? Maybe they need more earth element in their life to ground them or more fire to motivate them. Or having more Air attributes in their life might help them become clear-minded. Building a relationship to the elements in this way is how we bring them into our daily lives.

VM ASKS – I have questions about shadow work. Can you weigh in on this for me? I just want to know the basics. Advice, etc. Blessed be.

Reply – Magical practitioners do shadow work in order to “clean up” their lives so that when they practice magic those things will not be in their way. We are the greatest tool we have in magic and shadow work is about making ourselves a strong and clear-minded practioner. There is no one set way to begin shadow work. Shadow work is like “making an in-depth list of self-inventory and accountability” and working through it. You can just pick something you want to work on and jump in. Trust me once you open the door to shadow work it will flow.

RB asks – My 40-year-old son recently died, the way it looked it may not have been a peaceful death. We were all on our family farm family and friends. Every morning at different times I would open the kitchen door and there would be a big black crow. Just sitting in the yard or on the roof right over the door. The crow never tried to come in just sit there. Then on the way home just down the road was an eagle big and beautiful. Got home about two hundred miles from the farm and there was another eagle flying gracefully over our place just hanging out in the sky. Got any old folklore for this.

Reply-Sorry about your loss Ruth, I lost my son in 2016. The totems are there to assure and support you. It is the god’s and spirits’ way of letting you know you are not alone.

AK asks – I would like to hear your experiences with dreams. I’ve been recalling dreams like vivid memories. It’s rare for me to remember my dreams when waking. But throughout the day a memory of a dream can spark up, very vividly.

Reply – In my book, Psychic Skills for Magic and Witchcraft, there is an entire chapter devoted to dreams. Following is an excerpt directly from my book that might help. “To be lucid means you know you are dreaming, and typically when you are lucid you will remember your dreams on waking. Dream control means to be lucid while dreaming and able to manipulate the outcome of what is occurring in the dream by thought or will. Dream control happens when you are lucid and you decide to change things in the dream, by rejecting what is occurring. ( For me to control a dream is only to reject or stop something, not to say change the entire dream to something desirable) Teaching yourself to control dreams takes practicing all the skills and then using them in your dreams. However, you need to know and believe you can do so. Then there are what I call psychic dreams which can include: precognition, clairvoyance, or telepathy. Dreams can even be shared between two or more people. Other dreams have past life content or are lucid. Lucid means the dreamer is aware of the dream and in some cases can direct its outcome. “

SB ASKS – What’s the best way to get rid of a spirit that is stuck living in the house he transitioned in?

Reply – I have dealt with this before. In a moment that you know, they are there calmly ask them what they want and just listen. If they ask something of you only reply, “I will see what I can do”, nothing else. Then encourage them to go to the other side to be with loved ones. Address their fears of going to the other side if they have any. This typically works even if it takes several tries.

Cat was raised in a magical system by her mother and grandmother and was initiated by them into the family tradition at age 13. Over the years her grandmother taught her the ways of a Hedgewitch, Wortcunning, and “The Knowing” which is a mix of clairsentience, personal gnosis, and psychic ability. From working in the garden with her grandmother Cat became passionate about herbal medicine. Her insights about this are often discussed in her Facebook group Herbal Alchemy. Cat’s mother being less traditional, was a progressive-minded Christian Mystic that gave Cat her interfaith morals and taught her to be an avid reader. Cat’s literary education in the craft began at age 10 with authors such as Edgar Cayce, Marion Zimmerman Bradley, Lobsang Rampa, Gavin, and Yvonne Frost, The Golden Bough, and many more which she continues to this day. By the age of 18, Cat was adept in clairvoyance, UPG, dream work, astral travel, mediumship, and empathic skills. She went on to use those skills in her work as a Dual Diagnosis counselor when inspired by Judith Orloff’s book Second Sight. During her 15 years of counseling, Cat worked in such places as the Salvation Army ARC, The city detox, methadone clinics, and The Native Nations in Portland Oregon. She stepped into the public arena of Paganism at age 50 through Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries, began teaching and became an Ordained Pagan Minister and High Priestess. Cat founded the initiatory coven and school, by the name The Coven of the rising Phoenix in 2016. She is a published author, Psychic Skills for Magic and Witchcraft, through Llewellyn, and writes for The Green Egg Magazine.
