“I met Adriaan years ago when I was living in Berlin. I want to say it was December 2008. It was the Berlin tattoo convention and I was on the hunt for a new artist to work with. I saw him across the crowded space and I knew. “That guy, he’s the one. Let’s hope he’s a good artist”.
We made an appointment and I think we got along instantly. Adrian is from Mexico City and I from Ventura, California. We could talk art. music, beer, tacos, and the occult.
As an artist I wanted to get a collector’s piece that the tattoo artist was able to create and really dive into what they wanted to do. I had a loose theme of the Day of the Dead because I missed the large Mexican and South American culture I was raised around. I feel like this is a gift to any artist, which allows them to make wonderful tattoos. I was correct when I intuitively found him. Adriaan makes powerful tattoos.” – (excerpt from a previous interview with Adriaan in 2017)
The last time I interviewed Adriaan was back in 2022. I haven’t seen him for a while but we check in with each other and I keep up with his socials when we don’t have time to talk. The main image of this article was taken from a post in 2025 and his experiences of meditation and yoga while living in Hawaii.
“Since last year I got deeper into meditation, my favorite ones since a long time are the kaula tantric / shiva shakti and the Tao tantric / microcosmic orbit. But this time I got deeper into Kriya yoga.
I was always fascinated about it since I read “autobiography of a yogi” when I first started practicing yoga but even if I was constant for the last year, I didn’t feel much.
I was wondering why it was not working but I decided to keep going as I felt guided by a higher power. One day as I was meditating I surrendered and practiced without any expectations, and then all of a sudden I experienced different layers of consciousness and a shift in reality.
Last time I was meditating in a group I experienced a joy & bliss that I never felt before and in that moment with tears falling down my eyes I felt turning inside out as if I was experiencing the reality of the causal world. It is a long way still but now I know that is the best investment I can do in this life.
Meditation is now for me one of the most beautiful ways for self realization as it’s also our birthright to realize that we are that, that loving bliss of a divine pure awareness 🤍”
Q: Magick can be found in many places in the world but one of the special places in the United States is Hawaii. It has captivated people from the first Indigenous peoples to those traveling to see its natural wonders and culture.
What has been on of the major influences for you living in Hawaii because I remember you being inspired by many animals?
A: The magick of Hawaii has refreshed my tattoo career and my art has evolved since then. Here are some of the newly inspire tattoos Adriaan has done since living in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Adriann is an avid surfer, skateboarder and lover of art and music. I think that’s why we connected so quickly. He has a creative and adaptive art style that always inspires me as an artist; combining esoteric imagery and personal symbolism together seamlessly. As a tarot reader I would love to see him put out a deck of oracle cards, specifically associated with different spiritual practices and exploration of the subconscious.

We won first place in Berlin many years ago
Adriaan has been honored with many tattoo awards and mentioned all over the globe for his achievements. Do a quick google search and you will find many articles and mentions of his convention travels and work.
Q: Where are you currently working out of and where can we find you?
A: I’m living in Hawaii right now and I post my work regularly in my Instagram: instagram.com/adriaan_machete
He is currently working out of TattooLicious in Honolulu and you an book a tattoo with him here: https://www.tattoolicious.com/artists/adriaan-neo-traditional
“Adriaan, celebrated in the tattoo world as Magic Dimensions, is a pioneering force in the Neo traditional tattoo movement across Europe. Renowned for his enchanting fusion of art nouveau’s grace and the mystique of esoteric symbols, his artistry is a fixture at prominent conventions in London, Brighton, and numerous guest spots throughout the continent. Regularly practicing his craft in Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain, Adriaan’s distinct approach has solidified his reputation as a leading figure in the European Neo traditional tattoo scene.” Tattolicious
Thank you again Keven Craft Ritual and Erika for a long friendship and inspiration. And, to everybody reading this update interview and trusting their magick and intuition.
You are the change in this world. Thank you for being yourself.
Love and magick,
Adriaan

“All that fire, all that pain.
Perhaps the visit from my ex through this thinning veil was more about me than them not being able to move on? I had to do some serious inventory here and allow the crystals and trance-like state to bring up these feelings to even expose them. I needed help getting rid of them because my growth as a partner will depend on it.
Once I had identified this pain, I noticed it sitting on my heart, like a scar. It felt foreign and not meant to be there. I asked Santa Muerte to help me, in which she confirmed simply as pain. I asked her to take it from me and she willingly did.
I then energetically removed my old skin, and handed it off to her to throw onto the pile to burn.
I invite you to do the same.”
