  • @poisonersapothecary wrote a review last month about this new #graphic novel #witchbody by @immateriality published through @weiserbooks , and the copies are now out. We have a few over at our sister company @q.mebpdx left. “Witchbody, by Sabrina Scott is a forthcoming publication from Weiser/Red Wheel that will be released in March 2019. It is a graphic novel full of beautifully illustrated ink drawings of a whimsical, enchanting and sometimes dark nature. It is, on the surface, a book, but upon further investigation it is a magical talisman of transformation. The book is in itself and independent entity with its own will. It is not a book that is simply read, it is visually and spiritually stimulating, not simply read but absorbed. Once absorbed it works its transformative magic on the reader. It is a book that leaves its mark on the reader, literally. It is intentionally risograph printed, a black ink that doesn’t entirely dry. It will subtly mark you over extended periods of reading. As a result your own fingerprints will decorate the pages as they are handled, showing the mutual relationship we share with all forms and beings around us. This graphic novel explores the relationship we have with the world around us, the various different forms that we connect with in our magical practices and how through this connection we are changed. Witchbody moves the reader to consider his or her own body and its place in the wider web of being. Scott presents us with the idea of a “trans-species pedagogy,” showing us that through these mutual relationships both parties learn from one another and move further along their evolutionary path. How perfect for Virgo, the healer, to arrive at the beginning, and to sweep us forward into the new. The Full Moon in Virgo comes at the start of Pisces season, and is lit up by Chiron’s ingress into Aries. This Full Moon is here to help us rewrite the narrative of our suffering. To find power in the details. To release into the fullness of our life. An axis between body and soul glows between the Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo. Where does your body bloom? And where is your spirit? We can now find new ways to heal, as well as new ways to serve. Each Full Moon is initiated by an opposition between the Sun and the Moon.
