A question I get asked regularly from people walking many different paths is:
‘Why don’t the Spirits stop them? Why didn’t they tell me?’
You know. ‘Bad Spiritual People’.
We have all come across those Circles, Houses and Covens led by those who are not true to what the spirits stand for; those who do not walk with honour, but pride, infallibility and a rottenness.
To the point where you can almost smell it.
After the fact, obviously.
We wander in, eyes wide at finding somewhere to be understood, somewhere to learn unencumbered, somewhere that feels like the family you were never gifted with.
Things are good for a time, as masks stay in place alongside rose tinted glasses. It feels like bliss. A homecoming after a long journey.
Then the inevitable happens, you start to notice things aren’t right and are gas-lit by others in the community. Either you are just being silly or maybe you aren’t making enough effort.
Can’t blame them, they are drowning in the Cool Aid.
Glasses and masks fall fully and you leave or are forcibly rejected from your new family. Clearly you weren’t the right fit, and, clearly, this all falls on you.
So…why don’t the Spirits stop them? Or why didn’t they warn you to stay away?
Because these communities of poison are THE best catalysts for you reclaiming your power, knowing yourself and showing you truly have the stones to go deeper into the mysteries.
Who are you loyal to? The Spirits? or their representatives? Who bleed, poop and eat pizza the exact same way as you. Whose finances might be a train-wreck and they kick stray dogs.
The representatives do not hold the Spirit’s knowledge or power, the Spirits do.
We are just borrowing it. THEY are just borrowing it.
And sometimes, that is readily forgotten.
Whatever your Spirits, they should be empowering you. Peeling back the bullshit put on us through early life and showing us our core. Our full potential.
Hand-holding is not their forte.
They show us what we are made of; strength and tenacity shining through, with them smiling smugly in the background.
‘Told you’ being frequently muttered.
We can’t be shown this without the opportunity of that crossroad where you either sit down and shut up like a good girl, or you stand tall with your Spirits and choose them over the comfort and safety of that community. That family.
These poisoned communities are also exceptional at ensuring you know EXACTLY who you don’t want to be. The pitfalls you need to be wary of to ensure you do not have to wear that mask or rely on other’s rose tinted glasses.
It forces you to hold yourself to a higher account of those who have come before you.
THAT’S the warning.
So take the knowledge you have gained in the House, Circle or Coven and leave. Knowing yourself a little better and knowing who you don’t wish to become.
Life isn’t easy, so why should your spiritual path be any different?
